General Plan of Study

(cf. Instruction for the Superior Institutes of Religious Sciences, approved on 28 June 2008 by the Congregation for Catholic Education).

The plan of studies is made up of a curriculum of five years length divided into two cycles: the first cycle of three years length at the end of which it is possible to get the Baccalaureate in Religious Sciences (Degree) and the second cycle of two years length at the end of which it is possible to get the Licence in Religious Sciences (Magisterial Degree)

a) Baccalaureate in Religious Sciences (= Degree in Religious Sciences), at the end of the triennium, providing that the students have attended all the courses and taken all the exams included in the plan of studies, have certified their knowledge of a foreign language, have taken the final comprehensive exam and have submitted a written paper approved by a directing professor.

b) Licence in Religious Sciences (= Magisterial Degree in Religious Sciences), at the end of the specializing biennium, provided that the students have attended all the courses and taken all the exams included in the plan of studies, have certified their knowledge of a second foreign language and have successfully defended their written dissertation.

This second academic degree is recognized by the country of Italy as well as by other countries for the teaching of Catholic Religion in the secondary school. The Licence in Religious Sciences enables students to pursue their studies in ecclesiastic Faculties and Institutes for the attainment of other academic degrees (Baccalaureate, Licence, Doctorate) according to the rules established by the Congregation for Catholic Education and by the Faculty of Theology in which the Institute is inserted.

c) Diploma and/or Licence for Formation Masters organized in collaboration with the Institute of Spirituality of PUST
